1. The pilot compares his severe injury to something like finding a dead cat on the sofa.
This simile reveals that the pilot state of mind is his leg was in bad condition with a lot of blood but there was no pain.

2. The repetition increases the suspense of the story because the pilot is injured but does not feel no pain so they think that they are okay. the pilot didn't feel good and thought that he was going to pass out.

3. I think the pilot is afraid to land in the water because he was scared to pass out before he pulled the cord to land.

4. I think the pilot passed out when he described the clouds and sun as whiteness and darkness.

5. The details revealed that he was in the middle of war period because he hears the plane in the sky but doesn't hear bombs.

6. The german bombers can tell that he is in germany rather than in Britain. I can tell that the nurse is trying to hide something from the pilot because she said he was imagining things that those aren't the junker 88s even if the pilot knows the sound of the bomber planes exactly because he was bombed by them.

8. The pilot's actions revealed that he is an extremely determined man because he was able to crawl to the window with his leg missing and throbbing. He was able to get to the window and find out that he was in France instead of Britian.

9.) The pilot believes he is in france because he sees a sign that reads G-A-R-D-E A-U C-H-I-E-N , Garde au chien, meaning beware of the dog in french languages.

10.) The pilot now recalls the sentence Johnny used to always say to the pilots everyday because he is afraid that he will get captured by the french and if he does they should know nothing but his name, rank, and number.

11.) The pilot's reactions at the beginning of the story was calm and settle. He wasn't worried at all until he felt as though he was about to faint because he was loosing too much blood. His attempt to get out the window was because he was afraid that the french would capture him but he didn't get away because he saw a sign that puzzled him realizing that he was in France. His responses to the nurse and the wing commander at the end of the story was because he didn't feel as though he could trust them
